IS IT TIME TO TRIM?
I wore my hair in canerows for two weeks whilst I wore a wig. When I took it out I had a lot of shedding. My sister said it’s because I’m due for a trim. Is she right? Or is there anything else I can do to stop so much hair fall?
Many of my clients opt for canerows whilst wearing wigs, and I always explain to them the necessary care they must take when it is time to take the hair out. For example, sleep on a satin pillowcase, wash the braids every two weeks (minimum) with a good conditioning or deep cleansing shampoo.

Having worn canerows for two weeks, shedding is very common and some people have more than others, it’s all down to the individual. What you need to remember is when braids/canerows are being put into the hair; it is pulling the hair tight, which can result in some breakage.
You must remember that the average person loses around 100-200 dead hairs per day, therefore you can imagine the amount that will be ready to come out once the braids are taken out don’t panic! You may also require a small trim; dependant on when you last had your hair cut. When taking braids out yourself, I would suggest giving the canerows a light spray with a conditioning spray and detangle in small sections starting from the nape of the neck and working up.
