San Francisco has its famous fog, cable cars, and iconic Golden Gate, but I want to see more. Let’s see what we can find. With its modern shapes and raw edges, Heath Ceramics has been defining Northern California style since 1948. Its new space in the Mission District takes things to the next level with a factory and a showroom all in one peaceful place. Go there to shop but don’t leave without taking a peek at how it’s made. Designed in 1954 for the handicapped and visually-impaired, this garden is meant to be experienced primarily through smell and touch.

Oh my gosh! This is incredibly soft. You should make sheets or a pillowcase out of this. It’s like you would think there would be pineapples growing on this plant. Above a small pond, you’ll spot a bust of St. Francis, the city’s patron saint.
Getting to this secluded beach requires a short hike, down some tough ploughs, but let me tell it is so worth it. From here you can see the bridge, the Marin Headlands, and plenty of Pacific. This place embodies the beauty of the California coast, all less than fifteen minutes from downtown. If you’re lucky to come on a clear day, you’ll catch a gorgeous sunset and just maybe a pod of dolphins in the distance. That’s San Francisco. Hope you liked it.
