A babys Hair
Although some babies are born bald, most have a light fuzz of hair, and others have a thick mop. This first hair will fall out gradually and will be replaced by new hair that is usually darker in colour. Preterm and sometimes full term babies have very fine downy hair and this may extend over their forehead, ears and back. This downy layer of hair known as lanugo falls out in the first months.
