A baby’s Skull

A babys Skull

Your babys skull may look asymmetrical with one side flat or otherwise slightly out of shape from pressure on it during birth. It should become normally rounded within a week or two. Put your baby down to sleep on alternate sides so that she does not flatten one side of her skull through sleeping on it continually. Babies born by Caesarean section do not have moulding of the head, although the bones in babies skulls are purposely not joined together so that they can overlap to fit through the birth canal. Always support your babys head when picking her up until she can support it herself at around three months.
