LISOF, one of South Africas most progressive fashion schools, offers full-time and part-time courses, from design to commercial and fashion photography and make-up. LISOFs past graduates include Suzaan Heyns, Tiaan Nagel and Akedos Eleni Labrou.
In October 2017, LISOF announced its annual Fashion Bursary search, where students were invited to submit one sketch with suitable fabric swatches in the categories Denim Couture and Denim Street, and to include a motivation on why they would benefi t from the Fashion Bursary. The search culminated in a fashion show, where Fikile Ngwenya was crowned this years winner of the full Fashion Bursary. Fashion is my life. I sleep and dream fashion.
Being given an opportunity to be part of a dynamic and progressive institution means I can express my inner feelings, creativity and passion, and most of my dreams will come true, says Fikile, who joined the LISOF Joburg campus in January 2017. Congratulations also go to part-bursary winners Mufaro Cathy Mukoki and Johanna Ferreira, who joined the LISOF Pretoria campus as fi rst-year students in BA Fashion in January 2017.
