ALBERT AND CHARLENE OF MONACO HELP THEIR TWINS ENJOY A MEMORABLE FIRST

Everyone likes to step out for their birthday and one-year-old twins Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella of Monaco are no exception. Celebrating their first 12 months, the young royals showed off their fancy footwork, with Jacques striding away from his mum Princess Charlene, while his sister got a helping hand from Dad Prince Albert (left).

Albert and Charlene, who had cancelled as many appointments as they could to make their children’s big day one for the family, celebrated with schoolchildren from the principality while the choir of U Cantin d’A Roca sang a traditional Happy Birthday. And of course there were cakes – one blue and one pink (above) – made by chefs at the Lycee Technique et Hotelier de Monte-Carlo.

Dressed in a stylish cream coat, Charlene looked at ease holding her son on her hip (right).

She’s very eager to be with her children at all times, said Albert a few days earlier. She’s up with the kids at six and takes them through the morning. Every day.

I do not think they would be as smiling and happy as they are if she weren’t as good a mother as she is.
