Bacon Apple Grill Recipe
Cooking Time: 20 minutes You will need for 4 servings:
4 gammon rashers 8 oz. cheese, finely grated
1 pint cider 1 large cooking apple
1 oz. demerara sugar
1 Trim the fat off the bacon, cook under the grill until tender, turning rashers once during cooking.
2 Meanwhile, put the cheese into a saucepan with the cider and melt it over a very low heat, stirring all the time. After it has melted continue stirring until the mixture gradually thickens.
3 Peel and cut the apple into twelve sections, removing the core. Sprinkle sections lightly with the sugar and put them under a hot grill for a few minutes on each side to heat and lightly caramelise them.
4 Serve the bacon rashers garnished with apple and accompanied by cheese sauce and saut1 or creamed potatoes.
