Omega-3 fatty acids. Food source – Fish (especially fresh water fish), nuts, avocado, pumpkin seeds. Benefits to the hair – Good for development of the hair shaft and for maintaining the natural oil of the scalp and for a healthy heart!
Protein. Food source – Beans, lentils, poultry, beef, pork. Benefits to the hair – Hair is predominantly protein in nature and so consumption of protein is the building block of good hair.

Selenium. Food source – Eggs. Benefits to the hair – It is critical for general health even though very small amounts are necessary. Selenium is one of the compounds found in the hair. It is toxic in large amounts and will lead to hair falling if too much is ingested. Try to get it from natural sources – much more difficult to consume excessive amounts that way.
