Cheeseburgers Recipe

Prepare as above, omitting fried eggs. Top burgers with sliced raw tomato, pour thick cheese sauce (83) over and brown under the grill if liked.

Lamburgers: Prepare as above using lamb in place of beef. Omit onion and fried eggs and serve with onion sauce (83), accompanied by peas. Mint may be used in place of parsley.

cheese 1 egg baked pastry case Frankfurter and corn flan Cooking Time: 30 minutes You will need for 4 servings: 1 packet savoury 2 oz. grated white sauce 1 pint milk

7-oz. can whole corn niblets

8-oz. can frankfurter sausages, sliced

1 Make up the sauce as directed on the packet using 1 pint milk.

2 Stir in the com niblets, the frankfurter sausages and the grated cheese.

3 Separate the egg and stir in the yolk.

4 Whisk the egg white until stiff and fold into the sauce mixture.

5 Turn into the pastry case. Bake at 400°F, Gas Mark 6 for 20 minutes. Serve hot or cold.
