For very large parties the simplest mixed drink to prepare and serve is a punch. Most punches improve by being prepared well ahead of time, and yet even these do not suffer when quickly replenished. And at punch parties it is usual for friends to help themselves which frees the host from bar tending.
By and large punches have a mild flavour, most pleasant, but also deceptive, for they are generally much stronger than most mixed drinks.
You will need for 12-14 persons: Ice 1 bottle gin 2 bottles dry white wine i pint cool green tea (Chablis, Blanc-de- pint white rum
Blanc or Hock) 2 fresh lemons, sliced
1 Put large chunks of Ice into a punch bowl.
2 Pour the white wine, gin and tea over the ice.
3 Add the rum, and stir the mixture thoroughly.
4 Garnish with the sliced lemon; stir once more.
You will need for 12-14 persons: Ice 2 tablespoons Curasao juice 6 fresh oranges 1 bottle gin (or 12 oz. canned, 1 fresh orange, sliced unsweetened) 1 siphon soda water
2 tablespoons sugar
1 Put a large block of Ice into a punch bowl.
2 Pour the orange juice, sugar, Curasao and gin over the ice.
3 Stir the mixture thoroughly and garnish with orange slices.
4 Splash the soda water in at the last moment.
