The advice that follows in Part Two will make much more sense if you read these posts, as you will become familiar with the terminology and concepts. I was watching my body morph in size due to all the retained fluids and how sick I had become. It was very emotional for me to watch my body turn against me, as I’d always taken good care of myself. All of a sudden I had four chins and I didn’t recognize myself. It was very depressing looking in the mirror. What did help me during these difficult days was the routine I had established. My mother came for lunch every day, and brought me salmon sandwiches, as salmon helps reduce blood pressure. I also set goals for myself. Some days my goal would be to take a shower. Another goal was watching the mini-series Roots as well as North and South before my daughter was born. Every night after my husband came home from work we’d sit down and watch one episode together.
