Radio and TV presenter Lisa Snowdon came third in the 2008 series of Strictly with Brendan Cole. Last month, the 43 year old announced she was leaving the Capital Radio Breakfast show after seven years. Currently single, Lisa is dancing a quickstep with Pasha Kovalev to the Glee cast version of Let It Snow.

How are you feeling about taking part in the Christmas show?

I’m just going to try and channel the nerves and make it all about being excited. Last time I got really nervous. It’s Christmas Day so I just want it to be fun.

Are you looking forward to it?

It is the most festive, wonderful vibe. I’m so excited for my niece Willow and nephew Finlay to see me dance. I also have the best dress in the world.

How have the rehearsals been going?

Pasha is brilliant.

He’s such a lovely teacher. It is different. He’s been refreshing my mind about ballroom, and it needed a lot of refreshing! It’s been seven years.

Have you found it easy?

My body hurts so much. I have got bruises on the balls of my feet, which I didn’t know was even possible!

Is it competitive with the other celebrities?

Not as far as I can tell, but you do not want to let your dance partner down. You have 90 seconds and you are trying to apply everything you have learned.

Where will you be watching the show?

At home with my dad and my sisters. We’re always together at Christmas. I can feel myself getting emotional. It feels wonderful.

Have you done all your Christmas shopping? of course I haven’t! But with me, even if I start early, I shop until the end. I’m a bit of a shopaholic really.

Are you easy to buy for?

I think I am. I like candles, socks, books and pyjamas -and cuddles from my niece and nephew! I can’t wait.

You’re leaving Capital at the end of the month. How are you feeling?

I’m excited about a new start and having a lie in! I want to get rid of these bags under my eyes and lie in the sun for a bit. Just rejuvenate really.

What will you miss?

It’s been brilliant. I will miss the guys. They are filthy and funny. They’ve corrupted my innocent mind. But it is time for a change.

Are you going to make any New Year resolutions?

There’s just no point,

I would only break them and then I’d feel guilty. But I should make one to go dancing again.

You do not realise how it tones your waist up. It is a brilliant full-body work out and so much fun.
