Highlights and shadows are applied with matte colors, black brushes. Even though the sponge is used in large areas, it is easier to control with the painted brush. For large areas a 3/8 inch or 5/8 inch mat, the black brush works very well. 3/16 inch, 1/4 inch and 1/8 inch brushes, including the most wrinkles for small areas, can be used. Marked grass brushes and eye brushes are useful for small details. It is usually best to use the largest size brush that matches the type of work you do. The small brush used in large areas is ineffective and can have ineffective results.

It is very useful to use sponges to apply highlights and shadows. Because only a small part of it can touch the face. Apply the color directly to only the most lighted and shaded areas of the face. Then mix with the moist part of the clean sponge over the entire area covered with the color with a very slight touch. Allow him to mix with the foundation color and gradually change like a trace. It can be very helpful to lightly apply the clean area of the sponge to the shades or high light, where they fit together in the foundation to help the two mix and combine.

In working with a brush, the general technical colors are to deposit in the darkest places of the shadows or in the place of high lights. Then clean the brush and mix the corners of the shadows or highlights with a damp brush until it mixes with the foundation. Use separate brushes for high shines and shadows to save time.

If you use a sponge or a brush, adding color is much easier than removing it. If the darkness starts to thicken, we can open it with a damp sponge. Do not try to lighten a shadow over a high light brush. Shadows and highlights can be dropped off or softened with sponges with more light for shades, darker colors for highlights, or colors that can tone down at both times.
