Meadowsweet Benefits & Information

Caution needed if allergic to salicylates. Seek professional advice if pregnant or breastfeeding.

Uses

Meadowsweet is a gentle anti-inflammatory due to its salicylate compounds. As it is a digestive agent as well, it is most suitable for those whose stomach suffers from taking conventional antiinflammatory medication.

How to take

I suggest taking it as a tea as an additional treatment for any joint/muscle pain.

Dosage

Adults: 1-2 cups a day.

Children (2-16years old): adjust the adult dose downwards, depending on the age of the child – see post 6.

Nettle leaf

Uses

Nettle, being a detoxifying and anti-allergic herb, has a place in the treatment of joint problems. Such problems often result from bad diet and exposure to environmental allergens, therefore nettle tea provides a logical supportive treatment in most cases.

How to take

As tea or tincture.

Dosage

Adults: 1-2 cups of nettle tea a day; or 0.7-2ml diluted with some water, 2-3 times a day, tincture strength 1:2.

Children (2-16years old): adjust the adult dose downwards, depending on the age of the child – see post 6.
