“Coconut water is now passe; the new plant waters making an appearance are maple water and birch water. You can now also buy coconut wraps, which are meant to replace your burrito or tortilla wrap and comprise of just coconut meat, water and salt. And another one to watch out for is lupin, a legume that’s around 40 per cent protein that’s being re-branded from cattle feed to the newest superfood!

HER PREDICTIONS? SUPER-MEATS “Remove the skin and duck meat is lean and half the fat is the healthy monounsaturated kind, says Dr McMillan. “Duck breast has 80 per cent more iron and 65 per cent more zinc than chicken breast, along with a host of B-group vitamins. It is a green option too as we are being encouraged to eat less red meat and more poultry. “Octopus has more than double the iron of a similar portion of steak and it has 30 per cent fewer kilojoules, hardly any fat and delivers a similar amount of protein, she says. “It’s also rich in vitamin B6, vitamin B12, phosphorus, copper and selenium. To top it off, it provides good levels of omega-3 fats.
