How do chemical hair relaxers work?
Chemical hair relaxers are very powerful, so much so that anyone applying a chemical relaxer is cautioned to wear gloves while applying the product.

The main ingredient in chemical relaxers is Sodium Hydroxide. Relaxers that contain sodium hydroxide are considered to be a “lye” relaxer and the strength varies from a ph of 10-14.
The higher the ph, the stronger the relaxer is. Sodium hydroxide is a chemical that is also found in drain cleaners. According to sources compiled by www.scorecard.org, this ingredient is suspected of causing respiratory toxicity and skin or sense organ toxicity.
This meditation is best done with as few distractions as possible. Take a moment to sit down and get comfortable. (When I need some TLC, I sit cross-legged on the couch with a blanket wrapped around me.) Close your eyes and begin to relax parts of your body, especially the tight spots like the lower back, shoulders, and jaw, or parts that are noticeably tense or in the process of healing. Try not to resist your moment of relaxation; this can give worrying more energy.
Make a connection with your breath and let your breath break those chains of worry and powerfully bring you back to present. Your mind-made worry blocks you from the truth, but as you become present, worry has less and less room to grow. Honor the unique path you are on and feel your feelings without judgment. This version of you is what the person in your life needs, which will be far more healing than ample time with a worrywart.
