Lighten Dark Under-Eye Circles
Dark under-eye circles are a common cosmetic problem for both men and women. Commercial products can cost a great deal and usually do not make a noticeable difference. Though under-eye circles have more to do with genetics, your overall health, daily diet and your quality of sleep at night, you can help reduce unsightly shadows naturally.
Potatoes contain vitamin K, an essential nutrient that helps to strengthen the walls of the blood vessels. This helps to gradually reduce leaky or enlarged veins under your eyes that can contribute to shadows. The juice in potatoes is rich in vitamin K. Shred quarter piece of fresh, raw potato with a cheese grater. Use a cheesecloth or other soft, fine cloth to make two small compresses of potato flakes. Lie back, relax and place the potato packs on your eyes for 15 to 20 minutes. The vitamin K in the potato juice seeps out and is absorbed by the skin around your eyes helping to reduce the appearance of dark circles and puffiness.
