Before hitting the gym, what should we be doing?

Tina Wiklund (TW): Always use a leave-in conditioner before a workout, or apply dry shampoo to the roots to absorb grease and prevent sweat from reaching the rest of the hair. Don’t tighten your hair when tying it into a ponytail as this pulls at your hairline. Opt for a good headband instead.

What are the ideal hairstyles to match our active lifestyles?

TW: Consider protective styles like cornrows, twists or braids to help prevent shrinkage and breakage that could be caused by hair being exposed to sweat or water.
