3-in-1 Cascading Waterfall Build-able Hairstyles

Hey guys it is Abby from Twist Me Pretty. I’m here with Hairstyles again to show you how to get this really pretty cascading waterfall braid and a couple different ways to wear it so hope you enjoy this tutorial. Make sure to comment below if you have not already. You can find me at Twist Me Pretty and we will leave the link in the description box below and let’s get started. So we are going to be doing a waterfall braid so I want you to take just a thin section from the very front, kind of a little triangle shaped section and we are going to split it into three and we are just going to do a regular braid so over the middle, over the middle and then this piece that’s in the very front, we are going to drop it so it just kind of hangs there. I’m actually going to tuck it behind my ear. And I have all these little baby hairs. Don’t worry about those. And then we are going to take a section from the bottom so we are just adding in a new section of hair because we dropped that one piece.

We’re just going to add in a new section. So we just replaced it and we are going to switch our fingers and just do a regular French braid so we are going to add in another little slice of hair to that top section and braid it over the middle, over the middle and then this little piece that’s now in the front, we are just dropping it. So now you have four dropped sections. One, two, three, four. Now, we are just going to add these back into the hair so we are going to add in a new section of hair. Add to that top section like we normally would, braid it over the middle and then before braiding this front piece over the middle, we are going to pull these down. We’re going to take this top piece and we are going to add it and now we are going to braid it over the middle, add in a new section of hair like we have been doing this whole time, braid it over the middle. Grab this front section, add it to that bottom section. Once you are all out of those dropped sections, you are just going to do a regular three strand. Just tie it off with a clear elastic. This is your first way to wear it. See how the waterfall braid kind of cascades back into that original braid?

So first way to wear it. Just down and some curls. A second way you can wear this hairstyle is just to put it up in a messy bun so I like to have my elastic band on my wrist that’s kind of holding the hair and then I just pull the hair through once except for I leave the ends kind of hanging out so they are kind of out and then I twist the elastic and I pull it through one more time and then just kind of fluff it out. If you do not want it to be droopy, you can get some bobby pins and kind of fluff it out. And then I like to just pull out some fringe and this would be your second way to wear it. Just a simple messy bun. And finally, to the side braid so what you are going to do is pull your hair all the way over to one side and you are going to take some hair kind of close to your neck and some hair far away, kind of from the back and we are just going to do a little topsy tails. So you have your two sections, take an elastic band and then we are going to find that little hole in the center and just flip it under and we are just going to do this all the way to the bottom. Okay, so this is just three topsy tails down and as you can see, the ponytail’s just nice and full but it is still kind of a side braid so you can either do just a couple topsy tails down or you can go all the way to the bottom so that it looks like a full side braid. When you get to the bottom, you are just going to want to spray it off with some hairspray so that all those little flyaways are smoothed down. And there you have it. A nice little side braid.
