Double Dutch Side Braid DIY Back to School Hairstyles

Hey everyone! I’m Jordan from Braids by Jordan. Today I’m going to be showing you how to do a pretty side combo braid. If you have not already comment to Hairstyles make sure to his the comment button and give this post a big Thumb Up. So let’s get started. Start off with your hair parted to one side and divide off a section of hair diagonally back from the front of the part, towards the back of the head. Take the remaining hair and secure it out of the way. Take a section of hair from the front of the head and divide it into two equal pieces. And now we are gonna start a Dutch Fishtail Braid. So take a small piece of hair from the outside of the top piece and cross it under and add it into the inside of the bottom piece. Then take a small piece of hair from the outside of the bottom piece and cross it under and add it into the inside of the top piece.

And repeat that again, so take a small piece from the outside of the top but this time we are gonna add in a small new section of hair. So take both those sections and cross them under and add them into the inside of the bottom piece. Then repeat again with the bottom, so take a small section, add in a small new section of hair, and then cross them both under and into the inside of the top piece. And then just repeat those steps all the way back until you run out of new hair to add in. Every so often I just went back and carefully pulled on the edges of my braid to give it a little more volume. Once you have reached about the end of the part, stop adding in new hair and continue just a regular Inverse Fishtail until the braid is long enough to reach the back of the head. Once the braid is long enough to reach the back of the head secure it with a temporary elastic. Release the remaining hair and then move the Fishtail up and out of the way. Now we are gonna do just a regular Dutch Braid, so take a section of hair from the front and divide into three. Take the top piece under into the middle and then take the bottom piece underneath into the middle. Then again take the top piece, but this time we are gonna add in a small new section of hair before crossing it under into the middle. Then again repeat with the bottom piece, so add in a section and cross it underneath and then just repeat those steps to create a Dutch Braid. After a few stitches stop adding in hair to the bottom piece and only add in new hair to the top piece, to create a Dutch Lace Braid. And again, I just went back and pancaked the edges of my braid.

Stop adding in new hair to the braid about where you did with the Fishtail and then continue a regular braid until it is as long as the Fishtail. And again, temporarily secure your braid with an elastic. Pull the braids together towards the opposite side of the head and then secure them together with a clear baby elastic. Remove the two extra elastics and then secure the braids at the back of the head with some bobby pins. I tried to flatten the end of the ponytail just a little bit to avoid any bumps. Take a section of hair from the opposite side of the head and twist it back, away from the face. Secure the twist underneath the braids with some bobby pins and then adjust it so that it covers the elastic. Divide the remaining hair into three and then start a regular Three Strand Braid towards the same side as the braids. At the end of the hair secure the braid with an elastic and then I went back and pancaked my braid just a little bit. And then I went back and carefully pulled out some pieces to frame my face. And that’s it. I hope you guys liked this hairstyle and if you did make sure to give this post a Thumbs Up.
