II. Early life

Philip Rivers was born on December 8, 1979, in Decatur, Alabama. He is the son of Steve and Joan Rivers. He has two older sisters, Monique and Stephanie. Rivers attended Eastlake High School in Lake Elsinore, California, where he played football, basketball, and baseball. He was named the Gatorade National Player of the Year in football in 1998.
